I received a polite e-mail earlier this week asking for comments on the UFO observed hovering over our building. As I had missed this spectacle (and I'm sure you did too), I was glad to see that it had been photographed, so I followed the link supplied by the e-mailer.
Well, what more can I say other that I am amazed, astonished, astounded, flabbergasted, gob-smacked, staggered, stunned, thunderstruck...you get the idea. This image is quite definitely the absolute, final proof that extraterrestrial intelligence exists and is visiting us here in Armagh on planet Earth (hmm "Intelligent beings come to Armagh Planetarium", could this be a new advertising slogan?)
Anyway, the Fermi Paradox is no more. We are not alone. Call Fox Mulder, fetch Ellie Arroway, 'phone MJ12, get on the hotline to X-Com and SHADO, cry "UFO" and let slip the Men in Black!
So now SETI is finished, I have to find a new screen saver!

It seems the UFOS visited last Sunday 8th May 2010 but the Planetarium was closed.
Check your CCTV cameras and could you possibly repair the CCTV camera in the corner of the car park as you turn right coming up the hill from the Mall. The CCTV is pointing to the ground and serving no useful purpose whatever.
